Wild beauty will forever be a part of Western Branch Preserve
With every visit one will see wild turkey in the fields, eagles fishing on the river or the call of the Bobwhite….. then there’s the incredible view of the Corrotoman with it’s ducks and geese. It’s a very special place.
With over 225 acres of land this site could have easily become just another subdivision with hundreds of homes. But that just didn’t make sense on land with such pristine beauty and rich history.
Instead, Western Branch Preserve will remain safe and secure from thoughtless development. The developers of the Western Branch Preserve created a permanent conservation easement on 160 acres and entered into an agreement with the cooperation of the Northern Neck Chapter of the Audubon Society www.northernneckaudubon.org as the guardian of the easement. Only 41 homesites exist with the remaining land being permanently protected by the conservation easement securing the Preserve's upland and wetland habitat from future growth.
Western Branch Preserve stands as an example of habitat appropriate development, placing as much emphasis on the native birds, animals and plants as it does the human inhabitants of the property.
By forever banning further development through a conservation easement, Western Branch Preserve becomes an estate dedicated to the preservation of the coastal environment and lifestyle.
